OUR MISSION

At Restoration Hope, we hope to provide a safe haven for youth and young adults in our community through our structured living transitional housing, food and hunger provisions, education, after-school, and childcare programs.

 WHO WE SERVE

The opioid epidemic in Tennessee has caused a significant increase in the number of children entering the system and having parental rights terminated. The State has the 2nd highest rate of opioid prescriptions in the nation.

There are less than 4,000 foster families willing to provide homes for foster children.

On average, 64 young people age out of the foster care system each and every day. They often have no support system once they turn 18.

●    20 percent of all children who age out of the foster care system become homeless,

●    75 percent experience mental health issues such as post-traumatic stress disorder, less than 3 percent go on to earn a degree, and a staggering two-thirds of the females who age out of the system will become pregnant by the age of 21.

THE HARD TRUTH OF WHO WE ARE SERVICING

As of January 2019, Tennessee had an estimated 7,467 experiencing homelessness on any given day, as reported by Continuums of Care to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD)

366 were unaccompanied young adults (aged 18-24)

Public school data reported to the U.S. Department of Education during the 2017-2018 school year shows that an estimated 17,766 public school students experienced homelessness over the course of the year. Of that total, 554 students were unsheltered, 1,245 were in shelters, 1,758 were inhotels/motels, and 14,023 were doubled up.

An immediate connection to supportive housing can ensure that over 80% of homeless individuals remain housed.

Studies have also shown that housing is less expensive than other solutions.
